The 74th Golden Globe Awards, which honor the best in television and film, took place Sunday, January 8, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon was the evening’s host and began the show with a musical number while ‘stuck in limo traffic’.  He also had to ad lib for a few minutes when the teleprompter broke down to start the night.

There are separate acting awards for drama and comedy/musical in both the movie and TV genres, and 25 categories overall.

Meryl Streep, who is nominated for Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy Actress in Florence Foster Jenkins , is also this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient.
